# Site settings

> Domain, SEO & Indexing, Search Console, Analytics, CMS & Files, Integrations, General.

Open a site at `app.getsite.ai/sites/<siteId>` and click **Site settings**. Settings apply to every page of the site. Most of them are applied by hosting when a page is served, so they go live without republishing.

## Domain

Where the site is served from: its free subdomain or a custom domain. The subdomain is chosen in the publish dialog when the site first goes live and cannot be edited here.

* **Link a domain** picks one of the [domains](/features/domains) in your account. Domains marked **(linked to another site)** can be picked too: linking one moves it here and leaves that other site without an address, with no confirmation. **Add domain** starts a new one.
* A site has one domain, and a domain serves one site. Linking a custom domain replaces the free subdomain as the address of every page; the subdomain is detached and deleted after 60 days unless you link it to a site again.
* **Unlink** removes the domain and leaves the site without an address. Link another domain, or re-link the old free subdomain from its page under Domains.

## SEO & Indexing

**Domain Rating**: Ahrefs' 0 to 100 score, refreshed daily for domains registered through or connected to GetSite. Linked-by-CNAME domains show no rating.

**Indexing**: two site-wide switches, **Search indexing** and **Sitemap**. With site indexing off, `robots.txt` disallows everything. With the sitemap off, `/sitemap.xml` returns 404. The `noindex, nofollow` tag follows each page's own **Search indexing** switch (on by default), so turn it off per page in the page's settings to noindex that page. Links to `/sitemap.xml` and `/robots.txt` appear once the site has an address.

**Favicon**: upload a `.png`, `.jpg`, `.gif`, `.svg` or `.webp`, or pick one from Assets. Do not upload a `.ico`: it is accepted but hosting cannot convert it, so the default GetSite icon is served instead. Keep it under 8 MB and 4096×4096 px; larger files upload but are not rendered. Hosting resizes it and serves `/favicon.ico`, `/favicon.png`, `/favicon-32x32.png`, `/favicon-16x16.png`, `/apple-touch-icon.png`, `/android-chrome-192x192.png` and `/android-chrome-512x512.png`.

**Submit this site**: **IndexNow** submits every published indexable page to Bing and Yandex in one click. Needs a linked address and **Search indexing** on. The Google Business and Brave Search rows copy your URL and open their submission pages.

**Redirects**: send a path on your site to any URL.

| Field | Rule |
| - | - |
| Source path | Must not be used by a page, must not end in a file extension |
| Destination | Absolute `http(s)` URL, including redirects to another page on your own site |
| Type | **301 Permanent** or **302 Temporary** |

Redirects are checked before pages on every request. Creating or moving a page onto a redirected path removes the redirect.

## Search Console

Connect Google Search Console to a site. Maker plan and above.

1. **Connect Search Console** signs in with Google. **Set up manually** does not connect anything: it saves an HTML-tag verification value that GetSite injects on every page, so you can add a URL-prefix property, verify it and submit your sitemap in Google's own Search Console. Stats, Check pages and Refresh in GetSite need the Google sign-in.
2. Pick an existing verified property, or **Add this site automatically**. Automatic setup creates the property, adds the DNS record and verifies ownership in about a minute. It is only available for domains registered through or connected to GetSite by nameservers.

Once connected you see Clicks, Impressions, CTR and average position for a date range, a daily chart, top keywords and top pages. **Check pages** runs Google's URL inspection on up to 100 published pages per run (the rest follow on later runs) and lists them as indexed, warnings or errors.

Data syncs nightly and lags Google by 2 to 3 days. **Refresh** queues a sync now. **Disconnect** revokes access.

## Analytics

Traffic for the site. See [Analytics](/features/analytics).

## CMS & Files

**CMS**: collections and records your pages can read and write. Developer plan and above. See [CMS](/features/cms).

**Files**: files served from your own domain, such as `/llms.txt`, `/ads.txt` or a PDF.

* **Upload** a file up to 10 MB, or **Write text** and save it to a path.
* The path must end in a filename with an extension. Letters, digits, `-`, `_`, `.` and `/` only. It cannot be a page path, `/robots.txt`, `/sitemap.xml`, a favicon path, anything under `/cms/`, or a file named `index.html`, `style.css` or `script.js`.
* Uploading to an existing path replaces the file. Files are cached for 5 minutes.

## Integrations

Each card opens a dialog with its field. Save to connect; clear the field to disconnect. Scripts are injected into every published page of the site.

| Integration | Field |
| - | - |
| Google Analytics | GA4 measurement ID (`G-…`) |
| Tag Manager | Container ID (`GTM-…`) |
| Meta Pixel | Pixel ID |
| Hotjar | Hotjar site ID (the field is labelled Page ID) |
| Microsoft Clarity | Project ID |
| Crisp | Website ID |
| Tidio | Public key |
| Intercom | App ID |
| tawk.to | Property ID and widget ID |
| LiveChat | License ID |
| HubSpot Chat | Portal ID |
| Zendesk Chat | Chat key |
| WhatsApp | Phone number with country code. Adds a floating chat button |
| Calendly | A `https://calendly.com/…` URL. Adds a floating "Schedule time with me" badge |
| Head Scripts | Raw HTML appended to `<head>` |
| Body Scripts | Raw HTML appended before `</body>` |

Use Head Scripts and Body Scripts for anything not listed.

## General

* **Cookie consent**: a GDPR banner with Accept and Decline. The choice is remembered for a year.
* **Privacy page**: serves a generated privacy policy at `/privacy` unless you have a page there.
* **Remove the "Built with GetSite" badge**: any paid plan. See [the badge](/build/publish#the-badge).
* **Duplicate site**: copies every page's current version plus SEO defaults, scripts, indexing and cookie settings into a new unpublished site named `<name> (copy)`. Domain, Search Console, integration IDs, password protection, redirects, CMS collections and files are not copied. Counts toward your site limit.
* **Delete site**: deletes the site and all its pages and stops any running build. Linked custom domains stay in your account; the free subdomain is detached and deleted after 60 days unless you link it to another site. Not reversible from the app.
