Ways to start
Prices are for the default model. Fable 5.1 doubles the page price. See Models.
From a prompt
Write 20 to 2,000 characters. Say what the business is, who it is for, what the page should make people do, and anything about the look. Click Generate or press Cmd/Ctrl+Enter. The prompt has to describe a website. Requests for web apps, SaaS tools, dashboards, games, anything that needs logins or a database, and blogs are rejected before anything is created. A URL in the prompt is treated as a site to clone. If you are not signed in you can still type the prompt. You are asked to create an account when you click Generate, and the prompt is kept. What happens during the build
You watch the page being written in a live preview. The builder asks questions as cards with a countdown. If you do not answer, the default applies and the build continues. Let two questions in a row time out and the rest are skipped with their defaults. Silence never buys a paid add-on.
Questions can accept a typed answer instead of a choice. On prompt builds the AI also asks two questions of its own about your business. Clones, templates and mockups skip the color, design and content questions; the reference decides.
Stop cancels the build for free as long as the code has not started streaming. After that the build finishes and is charged. You can close the tab; the build continues and you get an email when the page is ready. A build is cut off after 30 minutes.
What you get
One responsive page: HTML, CSS and JavaScript with a header, navigation, sections and footer. Stock photos from Unsplash by default, up to 12 AI images if you opted in, one 4 to 5 second muted hero video if you opted in. Fonts come from Google Fonts. Logos are not generated here; use the Logo tool. The site is named after the first line of your prompt. Rename it from the site page.Cost
Credits are charged when the page finishes, not when you click Generate.
A typical first site with AI images costs 30. A stopped build costs nothing. If two builds run at once and your balance runs short, the page is still saved and you are charged what is left.
When it is ready
The Your site is ready screen shows a screenshot, the pages built, build time and credits used, with three buttons:- Preview opens the page in the app. The address shown above the screenshot,
https://draft.getsite.online/<pageId>/, is the shareable draft link: anyone with it can see the page. Drafts are not indexed and not cached. - Edit site opens the editor.
- Publish opens the publish dialog: pick a subdomain on
getsite.co(default) orgetsite.online, or a domain you have added. Nothing is published until you confirm. On a free account the button reads Publish — $10/mo.
Models
Two models can build and edit your site. Pick one when the builder asks, or in the editor chat header.
Only page creation and page edits scale with the model. Section rewrites, images, video and design mockups cost the same on both.
Clone a URL
Enter a URL at app.getsite.ai/clone. GetSite scans the site for pages (up to 50 are listed) and clones the home page. Other pages are marked Add later; generate them from the site’s Pages grid. Two options: Improve design rebuilds the page in a modern style instead of copying it closely, and a model picker. Clones started here ask no questions. A URL typed into the prompt box instead still gets the model, branding, payments and image questions. Sites rendered entirely by JavaScript still clone, but only the home page.Templates
Browse getsite.ai/templates and click Clone Template. The template appears as a chip on the prompt box. Your prompt provides the content; the template provides the design.Design Studio
app.getsite.ai/design generates full-page design mockups for 5 credits each. Hover a mockup and click + to create a variation, or the wand icon to Create website from design: the builder matches the mockup’s layout and colors and writes its own text. Mockups are kept in a tree at/design?thread=<id>. Bookmark the URL. Start Fresh does not delete the tree, but you lose the link.
Upload your own code
app.getsite.ai/upload takes an.html file plus optional .css and .js files (10 MB each), or pasted HTML. No AI runs and no credits are used.
The site goes live on a getsite.co subdomain right away, on any account, with no plan. The subdomain and site name come from your HTML <title>; without one you get a random six-character subdomain and the name Untitled. Uploaded sites carry the GetSite badge unless you subscribe, and count toward your site limit.
Explore
app.getsite.ai/explore lists public sites built with GetSite, sorted by Top or New. Click a screenshot to open the live site. Sites appear here when they are marked public. There is no switch in the app; the only way to set it yourself is theis_public field on the website in the REST API.
Limits
To start over on a free account, delete the site. Publishing an AI-built site needs a paid plan. See Publishing.
